Check it out - not only can I put on my wedding dress comfortably (YES, including zipping it up), but IT’S TOO BIG IN THE HIPS NOW. Granted, it was always a tad big there, but this is AWESOME. How many (basically) 45-year-old women who’ve been married for 14 years can say THAT?! Wow.

A husband and wife are talking late at night. Husband is relaying to his wife a conversation he’d had earlier in the evening with a friend about whether or not they would consider smoking “medical” marijuana if they had cancer. Husband said he would, but was concerned about smoking around his family, not wanting to give everyone a contact high. Husband’s friend said he would bake it brownies and take it that way. Here is how Husband explained his reaction to that idea:

I couldn’t do that. I would have a hard time going to dispensary, getting some really good pot, and then breaking it up and baking it in brownies. That would be a waste of good pot. That would be like using Malabrigo to knit a coffee coaster!

Now THERE’S a man who’s learned to RESPECT THE MALABRIGO, lol….

Let’s see now…What was that Scott Colvin said in the middle school parents’ workshop at the marriage retreat last weekend? Ah, yes, it was, “They WILL hurt your feelings. They WILL hate you. They WILL sin. Get over yourself!!!!” True dat.

14 Years Ago Today…

…I married the perfect man for me, and I will be forever grateful to God for him. In all our ups and downs and moments of drama, I can honestly say that - even in the crazy first year or two of marriage - I’ve never for a moment wondered if I’d made a mistake or questioned if he really was right for me.

We are both so grateful for all those (starting with YOU, Sean!) who helped us get to the point of being ready to get married, those who helped out with the rehearsal, wedding, and reception, and all those ever since who’ve supported us and helped us to stay married. Thank you all!

I tell ya, marriage is the best roller-coaster ride EVAH!

A bunch of us went out after the marriage retreat last weekend to celebrate the birthdays of Ed and Dave - our two favorite math geeks, lol. The time with friends was great; the food at Mexicali Grill, not so much. Happy birthday, guys!
