A Sewing Project
The birthday girl’s mom says she likes blue. I hope she doesn’t mind that the fabric is 30 years old! (Nana, do you recognize it?)
I have a couple of gorgeous fat quarters I bought @ Beverly’s that I’d like to use on another one, but I need to figure out first how to do it a little bit better and bring it up to an A (plus, I need more bias tape). For one, I think I only really need the bias tape in a couple of places. I probably ought to cut the fabric pieces to the same size, but use slightly smaller seam allowances to minimize the bulk (not using so much bias tape would help with that, too).
Tune Hat
He usually uses an iPod Touch, so I didn’t tack down the cuff to make the pocket, but he said they have a nano that they use, so next time I see him, I’ll probably do the pocket for him.
This is the cropped version of the photo b/c I didn’t want 8,000 young women emailing me, asking if the buff, shirtless dude was available (He’s not; he’s got a girlfriend).

The First Sleepover of Summer
I wish I’d gotten a picture last night when they were playing “Greek goddesses”. T2 was dressed up like Artemis (minus the bow & arrow, lol) and looked great. Here they are - T2, T1, Jackie & Lauren - enjoying their breakfast feast of toaster waffles, scrambled eggs, and fruit. I felt so lame buying toaster waffles instead of making homemade, but I knew if I made homemade waffles (or pancakes!), I would eat them for sure. I figured I’d rather bite the bullet and pay $2.07 for a box of 16 waffles than make homemade waffles, eat them, and pay for it in guilt and the crummy physical feeling of starting the flour & sugar detox all over again, ya know?

Hazardous Knitting
In the middle of all that chewed-up looking skin, I have two “between-the-ridges-of-the-fingerprint” puncture wounds. Yes, folks, I’m what’s known in the knitting world as a “thrower” who is also a “pusher”. When using small-diameter pOINTy needles, injuries like this happen. Actually, I probably would have gotten my project done a bit sooner if I hadn’t had to take some breaks to keep from having this be worse. I’ve had it under a bandage a lot the last two days so I could soldier on and finish my work knitting project on time (which I did; I mailed it off an hour ago).
A few rows before I ran out of yarn (which happened two rows before the end of my project!), this happened:
Now, I get to contact the eBay seller where I got these and see if I can get a free replacement. Thank goodness I had a different needle in the same size that I could use to finish the project!
Such a hazardous job I have, lol. Where’s Cal-OSHA?
