Overheard

On the way home from Thing One’s friend Reece’s birthday party:

Mom, how come I can’t spend the night when guys have sleepovers?

Yeah. That was an interesting conversation.

Because I Am Insane

Fell in love with the stitch and thought it would look good with the yarn (color should look familiar). Charted it out as far as I could with the size of my graph paper and am winging it from there. Hey, Zib, look - I’m using charts, lol!

Mod-Mod-Modular Scarf

Filatura di Crosa 127 Print on US size 8’s. I do so love how this yarn knits up, especially in something like this, knit in various directions. I need to go back and write up how I did this OR get some more in another color (red??), knit it again and take notes this time.

WIP Update

Behold the slog:

PA261983

I had to put it down for a while after I poked a hole in my right index finger from the small, pointy needles (yes, in addition to being a “thrower”, I’m also a “pusher”). All healed up, so I’m back to work on it and cranking along. With the dark yarn, it’s really a daytime knit, not a night-time at Starbucks, thing, but that’s OK. Hey, Sean, how long did we say I was going to make it? It’s only about 21″ now, but I’m trying to figure out what I’m shooting for - was it six feet or was it longer?

Fall felted tote bag in progress (yes, the size 13 needles are a good break from the 2’s, lol):

Check THIS Out!

My sister took this picture last week on a field trip with her third-graders to the Sunset Magazine gardens. Cool, no?

A Prototype

This will change along the way, but the first attempt is pretty good. (Detail shot here.)

Five Trips Down, One To Go…

PA231982

The mandatory waiting period was up the other day, so Hubby packed his receipt, etc. in his Singapore luggage, and we stopped at Tabor’s on the way home from the airport this afternoon so he could pick up his new shotgun. After all, Opening Day only comes once a year. Should be easy for him to wake up early b/c his sleep schedule is all messed up anyhow from the jet lag, lol.
