Uh, Yeah

THIS would be why my beautiful flowering maple died:  a &%#^*# ate the roots.  Said gopher has since met his maker. He felt no pain.

Family Update

Lessee…Today is the fall picture day at school.  Of course, Thing One broke her glasses the other day, so she won’t be wearing them in her picture.  Bummer.  At least I made sure she got her bangs trimmed in time, so you could see her eyes, lol.

Thing Two continues to lose teeth:

Hubby’s been riding his bike to work again and really enjoying it.  He’s down six pounds in just a couple of weeks.  Wish I could say the same, but it’ll happen eventually.

Auntie has big news:

“Big Cousins” are on opposite ends of high school.  When I first met them, Jesse was two, and Steven was a baby.  Wow.

For two more TERRIFIC pictures of Jesse, click here, then mouse over the boy in the red graduation gown and the boy in the football uniform.  Yupp, we’re proud of our nephews!

Knitting Update

THE BIG PROJECT (henceforward known as “The Project That Ate My Life”):  62.16% done!  I do SOOO wish I could show you pictures.  The gracious bosslady is pleased with how it looks, so that’s a relief.  Before I tackle another project this big, though, I need to get one of those heat/massage insert things for my knitting chair, plus aThera-Glove for my right hand.

OTHER STUFF:  Since The Project That Ate My Life is now so huge, it doesn’t make for good car knitting any more.  I’ve gotten a bit more done on the pinwheel blanket for baby Reza during some times waiting at school, riding to church, etc.  I’m about to start the edging.  I sure hope this thing is big enough to be useful; it’s hard to tell the actual size while it’s still on the needle.  I’m not thrilled w/how it looks. The actual knitting is fine, and I like the brainless knitting of the pinwheel blanket, but I dunno WHAT I was thinking when I chose to do the color stripes.  Duh - it looks like a big, colorful target, Erica!  D’oh!  I also cranked out a quickie cotton baby hat one day last week when it was too hot for acrylic & wool.  It was delivered (along with a cute little stuffed pig I bought in Singapore) to Claudia on Sunday, while she’s still pregnant.  Yippee.

Since I can’t show you TPTAML, here are some quick snaps of the baby hat:

I can’t wait to get TPTAML done!!  I’ve still got to finish the blanket for baby Madera, and then I’ve got  CHRISTMAS KNITTING to do.  Gaaaaah!
