I’m Still Here…

Rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated, lol.  Sorry I haven’t posted, but between SERIOUS jet lag (the older I get, the harder it is), getting ready for school to start, THE BIG PROJECT, Hubby coming home, etc., I just haven’t done it.  I still probably won’t be blogging much till THE BIG PROJECT is done, but I’ll try to surface every so once in a while.

So, Hubby came home on Friday:

BLOG:  Oh, BTW, I know the blog is messed up.  I tried to fix one leeeetle thing and royally messed it up.  It took over an hour to get it back this close to “right”.  Ugh.  A webmaster I ain’t!

PHOTO CONTEST:  Oh, and I didn’t make it into the finals for the summer photo contest, but that’s OK; the ones that made it really are terrific.

Summer Photo Contest Entry

I’ve shown you this photo before, but here it is larger.  This is my entry into the 5 Minutes for Moms photo contest.  Here’s hoping!

Night Safari

For our last night, we went out for a nice Chinese dinner at Jade Palace (where Hubby & I went a week ago Saturday on our night alone), then out to the Night Safari.  Thanks to Patrice’s coupon and her help getting the tickets, we were able to go for half price.  Woot!  Best parts?  Having a flying squirrel fly inches over my head would be one.  The bats flying over our heads would be another.   Thing One got pretty freaked, though, so I had to take her out of there.  I was white-knuckling it through and would have managed, but I didn’t mind too much.  The “Creatures of the Night” show was kinda lame, but the place as a whole was great, and we’d all highly recommend it.

Flying Sushi

Well, not EXACTLY.  Monday night, we went out for sushi at my new favorite place, then Hubby & the girls rode the Singapore Flyer.  Even Hubby, Mr. I’m-Not-Afraid-of-Anything, said he had some nervous moments when they were up high.  It’s not like an amusement park ride where, when you go up high, you’re up there too short a time to get afraid.  The Flyer takes about half an hour to go around - plenty of time for an anxiety attack, lol (hence my not riding it with them).

As always, click to biggify the pictures.

Wordle

This is similar to other word cloud things out there on the interwebs.  After seeing it on both Dani’s and David’s blogs, I thought I’d check it out (since it’s pouring outside and, therefore, an “inside day” here in Singapore).  Here ya go:

Little India

Saturday night, Patrice, Erica & I went to Little India for a girls’ night out.  Hubby & the girls were too pooped from their trip to Sentosa.  Full set here.  Highlights here:

Daddy / Daughter Day at Sentosa

I’m still not feeling too well, so on Saturday I was NOT up to two outings in one day.  Hubby took the Things over to Sentosa Island for most of the day, and they had a great time.  They got to do stuff they couldn’t have done with me around, like take the cable car over (no need to have an anxiety attack on vacation, la).  Here are some highlights (full set here).

YIPPEE FOR AUNTIE!

Auntie got a job!!!  She’s going to be teaching at a *small* private school in Daly City, teaching a split 3rd/4th grade class of fewer than 10 students.  Talk about a great ratio (for both the kids and the teacher)!

Yippeee!  All her perseverance paid off.
