The Not-So-Good Moments
T1 took today's workbook page out, then ripped it into pieces. Later, she put the whole workbook in the trash.
T2 told me I was "the worst mom in the whole world!"
They both whined about being bored.
Jenna got stung by a bee again. At least, that's what we figure; she was favoring her front right foot, and we can see a tiny red spot where something poked into her.
I love being a mom. I love being a mom. I love being a mom. I love being a mom. I love...

Change in Vacation Plans
Since there will only be four of us on the boat and only two "real" sailors (Hubby & I don't count), and since the trip from PV to Ensenada is really hard sailing, Sean & Dana made the wise decision to change the destination. This is no big deal except that we bought our tickets a long time ago, got a great deal, and paid for half of it with bonus miles, so we'd only paid a total of $330 for the both of us to go from SFO to PV and SAN to SFO.
After burning up the Interwebs, a gazillion emails, and much conversation, the plans ended up like this:
- We still arrive in Puerto Vallarta on the 12th and stay @ the beautiful condo till the 17th or so, with Sean's BBQ 40th birthday party on the 14th.
- We set sail the 17th or 18th.
- Instead of pushing to get to Ensenada, however, we will take our time tooling up to Cabo, then ending at Guaymas/San Carlos. This will be more of a vacation than the hard sailing to Ensenada would have been.
- From Guaymas, we hop on a "first-class bus" (I think that means only chickens, no goats) for an eight-hour, overnight ride to Phoenix.
- From Phoenix, we fly to San Diego.
- From San Diego, we take our originally-scheduled flight back home.
Whew!

First Day of Summer
After catering the year-end teachers' luncheon on Wednesday, then staying up till 1 a.m finishing Miss D's scarf, I was pooped after school yesterday. I started resting and napping soon after we got home in the afternoon, even though our next-door neighbor/carpool buddy Brian was over. I continued off & on throughout the evening. Even though I got up around 8:00 this morning and didn't really sleep in, I had as much sleep as if I had.
Unfortunately, I forgot to take my camera with me, but we were a bit of a sight this morning. You see, today is our traditional "Jammie Day" for the first day of vacation. Yes, we bathed, brushed teeth, etc., but we wear our jammies all day. T2's BFF, Karizma, came over to play (in her jammies, of course), and I took everyone out to IHOP for breakfast. T1 is definitely going through a growth spurt -- she ate 5 silver dollar pancakes, a piece of bacon, two scrambled eggs, and half of T2's chocolate happy face pancake. Yikes!

Last Day of School
Full set of pictures here, but these are some highlights. I can't believe we're heading into 2nd grade and 5th grade!
B/c T1's teacher, Miss M, is getting married in August, a bunch of families chipped in together to get them a gift card for Williams-Sonoma, where they're registered. Her fiance Chris works for W-S as a chef, so we thought a gift card would best b/c his employee discount would give them more bang for their buck. Thanks to everyone's generosity, we were able to make Miss M jump when she saw the amount...$215. She was so happy that she cried. Chris was there, too, so he got to see it.
Kindergarten & first grade walked to the park as always for their traditional picnic. Despite the wind & cold, they had a blast.

Malabrigo Fire
Did ya'll hear about the fire at the Malabrigo mill? So sad. I really hope this doesn't put them under. They're a small business offering a great product. Let's all go out to our LYS's and buy some Malabrigo today.
Details here.
