Drumroll, Please

It’s done!  I finished The Project That Ate My Life on Monday!

All that’s left now is to oh-so-carefully wash and dry it (my neighbor has a front-loading washer), then ship it off to [mumble, mumble]. This, my friends, is how I’ve had time to finish up UFO’s, etc.

Next up?

  • Finishing UFO’s (YES, Bobbi, including THAT.)
  • Generating inventory for my booth at the school Holiday Boutique
  • Christmas knitting

Whew!  I’m SOOO glad to have that monkey off my back…

Baby Surprise Jacket for Baby Jonathan:

Candy corn buttons and Baby Jonathan himself:

(I tell ya, Christine’s either very brave or crazy.  Her other kids are 18 and 12, and she just just had Jonathan a month ago.  YIKES!)

Christmas gift dishcloth:PA290001

Baby blanket which had been lurking in a corner for an embarrassingly long time.  I had gotten almost 3/4 done with the edging, then ran out of yarn.  In disgust, I tossed it aside and ignored it.  Today, I picked it back up, ripped out the eding and one more round, then did a quickie crocheted edging, et voila!

New Haircut

I’m still trying to figure out how to style it the way Jen did when she cut it, but I like it, and I’ve been getting compliments on it.  It was a HUGE deal for me to go to someone new after 11 years with the same person.  She charges more, and it was a longer drive, but definitely worthwhile.  What do YOU think?

And YES, those ARE new glasses, thank you very much for asking.  NOT A SINGLE PERSON has noticed them, and it’s been over a week.  Even Hubby didn’t notice; I told him two days later.  Feh.

Whirlwind Visit

We had a whirlwind visit with Grandma & Grandpa last weekend — fewer than 24 hours, but every minute was enjoyable. Here are the very few pictures from last Saturday:

Happy Dance!

I am now 91.8% done with TPTAML!  I hit a major milestone on Saturday and am now in the home stretch.  The “boss lady” is pleased, which is, of course, the most important thing.

And now we do the dance of joy….

Opening Day

Saturday was opening day around here of the 2008/2009 duck season, and Hubby, of course, participated.  Here are some highlights:

Walk Through The American Revolution

Yesterday, the fifth grade at the Things’ school did their annual “Walk Through The American Revolution”.  I had no idea what a big deal this was!  Yes, the kids wore costumes, learned parts, etc., but there was even more to it than that.  An outside group comes in and runs it, and there’s a whole display setup,  teams, points, etc.  The whole thing takes two and a half hours.  I got to be scorekeeper, which was fun.  Here are some highlights.  Entire album is here.

Note to Self…

If the neighbor’s Chihuahua puppy gets locked out and is crying and scared in the driveway, DON’T try to pick him up without letting him sniff you first.  He WILL bite.  It may not do any real damage, but it will hurt some and will be annoying.  Stupid human….
