Malabrigo Fire

Did ya’ll hear about the fire at the Malabrigo mill?  So sad.  I really hope this doesn’t put them under.  They’re a small business offering a great product.  Let’s all go out to our LYS’s and buy some Malabrigo today.

Details here.

I Caved

Time to ‘fess up.  A while back I was having one of those over-eating and over-spending weeks, and I caved in and bought these for our trip:

I should have known better than to believe the CafePress website.  I chose the size for these according to my measurements and the measurements on their size chart, so they should have both fit with an inch of positive ease in the bust.  Nope; LOTS of negative ease.  Oops.  I guess I won’t be wearing them in real public anytime soon.  The “i knit” one will be perfect for Sean’s party, though, seeing as how it falls on WWKIP Day, lol.

Busy, Busy, Busy

School ends at 12:50 on Thursday, so I’m really busy.  I’ll come up for air soon, but for now I’m making and buying year-end teacher gifts, planning and putting on the year-end teachers’ luncheon, and participating in the last day of school festivities (party in T1’s class, kindergarten & 1st grade barbecue at a local park).

I’ll catch you on Friday or Saturday….

BTW, we’ve had a change in plans for our Mexico trip.  It’s nothing that will affect the dates of our leaving or coming home, and it won’t affect the babysitting schedule, but it has definitely thrown us for a loop.  Hopefully, Hubby & Uncle Sean will get it hammered out today.  I’ll fill you in later.

Hmmm….

By BETH FOUHY and DEVLIN BARRETT, Associated Press Writers

WASHINGTON - Hillary Rodham Clinton told colleagues Tuesday she would consider joining Barack Obama as his running mate, and advisers said she was withholding a formal departure from the race partly to use her remaining leverage to press for a spot on the ticket.

On a conference call with other New York lawmakers, Clinton, a New York senator, said she was willing to become Obama’s vice presidential nominee if it would help Democrats win the White House, according to several participants in the call.

Clinton’s remarks came in response to a question from Democratic Rep. Nydia Velazquez, who said she believed the best way for Obama to win key voting blocs, including Hispanics, would be for him to choose Clinton as his running mate.

“I am open to it,” Clinton replied, if it would help the party’s prospects in November. Her direct quote was described by two lawmakers who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak for Clinton.

I don’t know about you, but I’d be really afraid to be president with Hillary as veep.  I would be terrified of ending up conveniently assassinated w/Hillary ending up as prez.  I’m just sayin’….
