Under the Wire

Remember, this is the one she specially requested — a scarf, not a sweater, “And could you use some of that self-striping yarn?” I don’t think I’d use this yarn again, though (Plymouth Boku). It’s pretty, but I lost track of how many times the yarn from the first ball broke on me. I got really good at doing the old-fashioned spit-splice (pretty much exactly what it sounds like, for the non-knitters out there), but it was a MAJOR pain.
I also cranked out six assorted felted snakes today, too, for Andrei, Nico, and Baby Cousins. Pictures of those at another time.
I’m off to bake a cake for tonight’s dinner with MarkyMark, Bobcat, and Andrei. Happy Merry!
Man vs. Beast
This week, we got MAD. Today, Hubby got EVEN. He & Thing Two spent about an hour outside, digging up the dirt from the gopher mounds. Next, he got the garden hose and literally flushed the darn thing out. Yes, he drowned it, then put it out of its misery by whacking it on its head with the shovel.
Hubby says he’s now gotten his Christmas present early, lol.
If you’re not squeamish, click on “Read More” to see the pictures (Don’t worry; there’s no blood & guts).
Jenna, of course, wanted to eat it. Thing Two was fascinated that “He has his own little boy parts! Isn’t that funny that he has his own little boy parts?” [Yes, yes, yes. I know -- her mother's daughter all over....]
How We Spent Our Saturday
The Things, Jenna, and I spent the day at Poppa & Nana’s new place. Ostensibly, I was there to help Nana unpack, but every time I made mention of it, she didn’t bite. I think she just wanted us to come up and check it out, which was fine with us. I had meant to take a bunch of pictures, but only took this one from the car window when we first pulled up. I’ll get more when we go up on Christmas.

Hubby didn’t get nearly as many birds as he would have liked (I was hoping for at least one goose!), but he got a little something. Not sure when we’ll eat it, but he’ll clean ‘em and freeze the meat.
KNITTING NOTE: I *will* have some knitting content soon. I’m rather behind, plus recipients may be lurking here, so I’ll show stuff later.
