Aunt Lila’s Shawl
I wanted to have this finished before we left, but that was not to be. I did, however, finish it Sunday evening, after the funeral. As the breeze was starting to kick in and the temperature dropped a little, I put it over her shoulders. Nothing I could possibly do would bring Uncle Mike back, but this shawl will provide her with some warmth on the cold, lonely fall and winter nights when she’s missing him and needing a hug.
YARN: Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Worsted, colorway Irving Park, just over two skeins, which had been marinating in my stash since November.
NEEDLES: US 10’s.
PATTERN: Pattern? Pattern? I knew I forgot something! The lace, however, is “Marriage Lines” from one of the Barbara Walker books (forget which one). If it looks familiar, that’s b/c I also used it in the giant brown baby shawl for Bob & Ginger’s baby back in April.
