Quick Update

Just a quick update here on various fronts…

UNCLE MIKE:  The funeral is tomorrow midday.  The whole town is pulling together to put on the funeral and a humongous pot luck afterwards.  B/c he was the volunteer fire chief, they’re expecting 200 fire trucks from all over, which will lead the procession to the amphitheatre for the funeral, lights flashing, followed by family, then everyone else.  Cousin Helen said that there might be as many as 500 people there.  Yikes!  We’ll drive up to Sierra City later today after Hubby & Thing Two get back from Yosemite, take showers, and I do a load or two of laundry, then we re-pack the car.  We’ll be back Monday, and Auntie has graciously agreed to come stay with Jenna while we’re gone.  Thanks, Auntie!

CABO HOODIE:  Temporarily on hold, which is fine b/c Thing One’s bday isn’t until September 22nd.

MYSTERIOUS PINK OBJECTS PREVIOUSLY PICTURED:  Didn’t work on them yesterday, but I should pick them back up tomorrow.

OTHER STUFF:  Cast on yesterday for a special shawl for Aunt Lila.  She won’t need it in the warmth now, but in the long, lonely nights this fall & winter when she can’t sleep and is remembering Uncle Mike, it will feel good to wrap herself in something warm and soft.  I’m using the Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Worsted that’s been marinating in my stash since November.  It’s got a garter edge, and the center is the “Marriage Lines” lace pattern.
