Uh, oh….
Look, Honey, look!
What IS that? It looks like a dog sweater.
It’s a sock! See…
[grim, serious gaze] It’s ONE sock.
Well, yeah - I just started today. Look at how much I’ve done already.
[continued grim, serious gaze] It’s ONE sock. You were supposed to make them both at once.
Well, it’s my first one, and the pattern was specifically written for dpn’s, and I couldn’t figure out at first how I’d do it on two circulars, but I’ve figured that out now. Next time I use this pattern, I can do them that way.
Uh, oh. I’m in trouble now. In less than 48 hours, I managed to buy four balls of Fixation, three balls of Encore D.K., and a hank of hand-painted superwash sock yarn. And I knit a whole sock yesterday. OK, it was only an anklet, not a big sock, and it was out of Fixation on US #3’s not some tiny 0’s or 1’s, but still — a whole sock in part of one day. And did I mention that it had 70 rows of a lace pattern on the instep?
Oh, my. Ummmm, yeah. I now understand this “the crack of knitting” thing. Only once, and I’m hooked. Crack, indeed….
