You know what I think, Mom?
What?
I think Elmo needs to go to a speech class because he never says “I” or “me”; he always says his name. That’s crazy!

You know you’re getting old when you get excited about a gift of washcloths.
Yupp, Julie liked the dish cloths. It was great to get caught up. Things have definitely changed since the days of playing Scrabble and watching American Gladiators with Robin till the wee hours or Julie trying to teach me line dancing — we’re a bunch of old, tired, frumpy mommies, but we’re happy. I wouldn’t go back for anything….
Several months ago, Julie mentioned in passing that she “loves” handknit dish cloths. Ahhhh, I SO enjoy it when friends make gift-giving easy! Julie’s birthday was in June, and she, Robin, and I are finally getting together tonight - in about an hour - to celebrate. Not a fancy gift, but they were all made with her in mind. I think she’ll like them.
Have you ever written an author a fan letter?
Did you get an answer?
Did it spark a conversation? A meeting?
(And, sure, I suppose that e-mails DO count . . . but I’d say no to something like a message board on which the author happens to participate.)
I guess I’m not an author groupie. I’ve never written a fan letter.
