Baby Paul’s Birthday
In all the vacation excitement, we did not forget Baby Paul’s birthday. Hubby & I took our buttons with us and started wearing them on the 12th. A couple of days before, I had suggested that we do a toast in his honor, but no one seemed up for it, so I didn’t push it.
The Things were at Rick & Adri’s that day, so Adriana took them to the cemetery before they went to Pixie Land and dropped off some flowers and a balloon. I really appreciate her doing that. Here are the pictures she took. (FYI, the new person on Paul’s right is Cousin Nita, Hubby’s dad’s cousin who died recently. Now the whole row is family: Uncle Peppie, Paul, Baby Paul, and Nita.)
Wouldn’t you know, when I got home from Mexico, I found that Grandma & Grandpa and LaSchaunda had “lit candles” on Paul’s site for him for his birthday, and LaSchaunda had called, not knowing that we were gone. It always means so much to me when people remember. We got some funny looks from the Mexican airport people about our buttons, but only one person asked about it. The guy apologized afterwards, but Hubby thanked him for asking. Telling someone is much better than having them fixate on the button but not say anything. Besides, if we didn’t want to talk about Paul, we wouldn’t wear the buttons, would we?
