Booties!

My first booties!  I’m a bit tired of the same old baby gifts, so this time I thought I’d make some booties.  They’re not perfect, but I think they’re really cute.  They’re the Stay-On Bootie (don’t hold me to that; I didn’t name them) from Knitting for Baby.

Did I knit them from the specified Koigu?  Uh, what do you think?  Nope.  No Koigu at this time.  This yarn was part of an order of cheap yarn I bought in January 2005, when I’d been knitting again for all of a month, month and a half, back before I knew better.

Anyhow, much as I wouldn’t purchase this kind of yarn at this point in my knitting career, it sure was nice to make something different for a baby gift, and it was great to get the “quick fix” of something done very quickly.  I envision a few other pairs of booties in my future (I have some SensuWool that would look great….).

Aforementioned Cap

I dunno what the deal is with her wanting to pose with a fist like that all of a sudden.  I probably ought to ask her in the morning.

Knit from less than one ball of WOTA and some leftover bits of Galway on US 8’s.  Who’s it for?  I dunno.  It will either end up as a gift or end up on the 2007 holiday boutique table (since I had a request for hats).
