As I’ve mentioned before, Hubby leaves on the red-eye Monday night for Quebec City for work and comes back Friday night. The HIGH there today was 19 degrees. 19. That’s in Fahrenheit, not Celsius, folks. Hubby & I have been going back & forth about his needing cold-weather handknit items, such as a hat and scarf, but he’s refused. Well, last night he came home and said that he wouldn’t wear a hat b/c he didn’t want “hat head”, but he’d consent to wearing a manly scarf in either silver and black or blue and gold.
I gave him links to various manly scarves, such as:
He could have chosen any of these. But nooOOOOOOOOO, he chose this one:

OK, I am NOT going to knit this on US 4’s. If I had till February, maybe, but not for a Monday night departure, when I have MEY’s commissions to finish before church on Sunday. Nope, not gonna happen. It’s gonna be on 7’s or 8’s in Cascade 220, that’s for sure….
[Added later] Oh, and did I mention that I brought this on myself by mentioning to him that I knew of a double-helix scarf pattern? Yupp, any stress is my own darn fault.
Like I said, Y is for YIKES!
