I See…

I see dish cloths (small balls of cotton), a baby sweater (big ball of handicrafter cotton), and a Hallowig (the petrobarf).  I felt like a heretic buying Red Heart, but that’s what the Hallowig pattern was designed for.  Anybody know how to dye acrylic?  I tried to find a color that would pass for strawberry blonde or “Titian Blonde” (remember, this is for a Nancy Drew costume), but I just couldn’t….

We Have a Winner!

Houston, we have a winner!   Dale was the first person to correctly guess that this weekend’s cinematic classic was….Yellow Submarine!

And what did Dale win today?  It must be a major award!  Well, I’m not sure.  See, Dale didn’t put in his/her email address, so I have no idea who Dale is, much less how to reach him/her and what sort of prize would be best.  Dale, if you’re out there:  Who are you (who, who?)?   Is this the illustrious Dale who used to drive the big, old Cadillac, the former bee-keeper, the former fabulous glass-blower, (former?) teacher?  If so, say hello to your wonderful wife, and I’ll shoot you something next Sunday.  Trust me, whatever it is won’t break the bank, especially since I only just now thought of having a prize.  Smile

The Things loved the movie.  I was a bit worried, watching Thing Two, b/c she looked pretty concerned (I’d forgotten how truly weird it was), but she wasn OK.  Hubby pulled out The Compleat Beatles to teach them the words to the songs.  This was a mistake.  They now run around the house singing All Together Now and Yellow Submarine.  They watched it again this afternoon, so it’s getting really imprinted in their brains.

It’s funny what different people key in on.  I haven’t asked Thing One, but when Thing Two & I were talking about it, she said her favorite part of the movie was when they were going through the Sea of Time, and they all got really old really fast, with huge white beards.  Thing One keeps saying I want me mum.  Oh, and she asks why Paul was so dressed up at the beginning, holding flowers.  Was he going on a date, Mommy?  He looks like he’s going on a date.  Oh, my.  Oh, my.  Well, to quote the words I used to tease Vinny at school the other day, The fruit don’t fall too far from the tree….

A Good Start…

After a couple of misfires, I think I’ve gotten a good start on this one.  (Not the one I was going to start with, but since I haven’t figured out that central double increase thing yet, I can’t do the Kureyon one.)

I’d been fantasizing about leaves, and now I have a good outlet.  Whaddayathink?
