Three F.O.’s And A WIP
For Baby Hope. Baby Bib o’Love (done in daisy stitch) and Baby Genius Burp Cloth, both from you-know-where:
Jury’s still out on this bib. It didn’t come out the way I was visualizing. This may become a “for the baby dolls” Christmas gift for the Things instead.
For Bobcat’s mom, Mrs. G. The yarn is some LB Homespun that Bobcat bought last year so I could make her something with it (Hey, it was a long time ago, before I discovered the good stuff, OK????). I had a brainstorm during the week about using it to make a shawl for Mrs. G. so Bobcat could feel like she waas there, hugging here mom during these last two months or so of her life, even at times when Bobcat’s not physically there. I asked her, and she loved the idea. She had bought three skiens of the multi-colored stuff, and one of the solid grey. The shawl is a basic “garterlac” rectangle of the multicolored with an occasional “dark moment” of grey thrown in. I’m knitting it really loosely on size 13’s so that it will go quickly and also be very drapey. Showed it to Bobcat today, and she was thrilled. After her mom’s gone, she’ll have it to wear and feel like her mom is hugging her back. Now, how’s that for sentimental, eh? Mrs. G is even smaller than Bobcat, so I should be able to finish it soon b/c it doesn’t need to be very big.
