Public Thanks
NANA: Nana, you are the BOMB. Despite the Things’ weird attitudes, we ALL appreciate everything you’ve continued to do for us while I’m not up to speed yet.
PAULA: That jambalaya was great! I even dipped into it before dinnertime; it took a lot of self-control not to eat more of it. Both Things liked it, too, which is always helpful.
LaSCHAUNDA: I’m embarrassed to admit how much of the manicotti I ate. We all loved it! Nana was impressed that you managed to make something so nice and so much work with five kids and a “foster grandma” in your house. She also said that K & L were beautiful. Of course, the fact that you went to CAL automatically wins you points in this family.
Waaaaah!
So, the Yarn Harlot is doing a book signing down at Full Thread Ahead tomorrow. It’s her ONLY - repeat, ONLY - stop in the Bay Area on this tour. I had four reservations. I bought the book (two down, one to go!). I even had ideas about scoring another copy of the book and having the Harlot sign it for a certain friend of mine who’s also a well-known lunatic knitter. Then it all fell apart.
- First, ‘Nette (a.k.a. my ride) cancelled.
- Then Merry cancelled.
- Then Sandy cancelled.
- Then I thought I was better than I was and did too much, so now I’m in pain, spotting, and I have butt monkeys (though that’s most likely from eat waaaaay too much fab manicotti that LaSchaunda made, plus some of the Lindor truffles from Grandma Ruthie, plus some of the Dove toffee/chocolate things from Grandma Ruthie). Much as I tried to convince myself I could go, I just couldn’t. So, I’ll be here tomorrow.
But I still want to cry about it.
