Disney Day Three, Part Deux
Thing One didn’t wake up till 10:30 this morning! Bwahaha! Made me glad I’d let her sleep. I spent a lot of that time lying on the couch, reading Town & Country magazine (ooh, la la!), reading my latest piece of fluff, and napping. Made her take a shower when she got up. By the time we got to the park, it was nearly lunchtime.
Hmmm. Let’s see if I can recap today:
- Enchanted Tiki Room (cheesy, but fun)
- Jungle Cruise
- Snow White show
- Muppet 3-D (me, Thing Two & Andrei, who didn’t like it; he didn’t like Gonzo)
- Monsters, Inc. ride (lots of fun)
- Grizzly River Run
Hubby, Angela & Thing Two went for early entry, only to find out no early entry today. They hung out till the park opened, then raced over to ToonTown for Mickey’s ToonTown Morning Madness. Thing Two was the only one of us last year who didn’t make it to that, so she really enjoyed it. Later in the day, Angela spent a few hours chilling at the hotel.
Dinner at Goofy’s Kitchen (in our hotel) for the whole gang of us. Lots of fun. Geppetto spent a long time at our table and did a very involved drawing of how to make a birdhouse. Hubby got a long video of Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother responding to an interview. Goofy and Chip both demonstrated (at Hubby’s request) for the kids how to brush their teeth properly. It was an “all you care to eat” buffet, so the Weight Watchers among us had a tough time of it. I did fine w/the dinner part, but…well…the dessert was another story entirely: tiramisu, tiny cheesecakes, milk chocolate/peanut butter tarts, caramel/chocolate tarts, flourless chocolate cake with raspberry sauce….and those were just the ones I decided I most wanted to have. That’s not talking about the stuff I rejected: fruit, frozen yogurt and toppings, bread pudding with sauce, fruit tarts, “pizza” cookies, fancy Rice Krispy treats, eclairs, something else whose name I can’t remember (it was a French word, and it looked like a custard w/blueberries in it; I’m sure I’ll think of it at 2:00 a.m.), jell-o, “dirt dessert” (chocolate pudding w/chocolate cookie crumbs and gummy worms on top), cupcakes. Uh…yeah. It was fabulous.
Angela & Thing Two are in the park now. Angela had to go back to get the hat she lost (Hubby lost his A’s hat! Waaaah!), and she wanted to hit the 9:00 Fantasmic show. Thing Two really wanted to go, and Angela was willing to take her, so we told her she could go, but that would mean she couldn’t go in early tomorrow b/c she needed to get some decent sleep.
Andrei’s supposed to spend the night tonight b/c MarkyMark & Bobcat are going down for her consultation with the magnetic resonance people, even though her treatment’s been postponed. NO idea why he’s not here yet. We’re beat, and we’d love to go to bed. I doubt he’ll be up for the early entrance to the park tomorrow.
