YES, it IS an ear infection.  They prescribed Amoxicillin and gave us some gauze pads and some ear drops that are basically a local so she wouldn’t be in agony on the plane.  We also had her chew gum during take-off and landing.

DO NOT take an 8:00 (or even 9:00 like the flight was originally supposed to be) flight to Ontario if your hotel room at Disney won’t be ready until 3:00 or 4:00, ESPECIALLY when the temps are in the 90’s.  You’ll end up just hanging out in the hotel b/c of the air conditioning.  At least we’ve found a movie room and the registration lobby TV.

Brunch @ The Rainforest Cafe.  Very cool. Love the gorilla.  Love the fish.  Love the decor. Food was good, too.    Things freaked out the first time the “rain storm” started, but then they kept asking when it would happen again.

MarkyMark, Bobcat & Andrei expect to arrive around 4:00, but they’re staying at a different hotel.

Thing Two will be REALLY bummed, but we just can’t let her go swimming w/a runny nose, cough, and ear infection.

Plane to Disneyland leaves in approximately 11 hours.  All the non-carry-on bags are in the car, ready to go.  Our carry-ons will have to wait till morning b/c of toothbrushes, etc.  Elizabeth the house/dog-sitter is settled in. 

So, class, where do you think Hubby and Thing Two are?…What did you say?  At the local ER?  Yes, that’s correct.

Thing Two’s been coughing since Thursday night.  We kept her home from school on Friday and home from church today, doping her up every way we could, trying to get her well.  She’s been feeling fine, apart from the cough. 

7:30 p.m.  Mommy, my ear hurts.

8:15 p.m.  Daddy, my ear hurts.

8:25 p.m.  Hubby and Thing Two drive off to the ER.

 

Lest you jump on me for using the ER for a potential ear infection — we don’t have an  urgent care center around here.  Anyhow, we figured that it would be best to get her checked and make sure that she gets antibiotics ASAP if she’s got an ear infection.  Imagine if we didn’t how bad her ear would hurt on the plane tomorrow.  Oy.  Poor kid.  What a swell guy, taking her there.
