Edited 6/12 to add links. Finally.
[Note: blog.com is being weird this evening and won't let me create links. I'll edit this tomorrow or something and add the appropriate links.]
Well, I missed the Worldwide Knit In Public Day gathering at the park yesterday, but I did knit all through my WW meeting that morning. Does that count, even thought it’s something I do every week? I had planned to go — the whole family was going to come — but come time to get it together and leave, I was so drained I was almost asleep. Don’t know if it was an after-effect of the bloody biopsy or if it was b/c Hubby worked so late on Friday night. There was just no way my body was making it out of the house, into the car, and over there. Sorry, gang!
Annual church shindig at Shoreline Amphitheatre today. It’s the closest thing to a church picnic we do (kinda hard to do a regular picnic w/people coming from as far north as Santa Rosa, as far south as Santa Cruz/Monterey, as far out there as Brentwod, etc.). Lots of music, sermon, picnic, bouncy castles for the kids. They even had some of the concession stands open in case anyone didn’t bring a picnic. As I’ve been in the church since the creation of the wheel (Hubby since the creation of the vato low-rider hydraulic bounce), it’s always a great time for us to see our far-flung friends we don’t get to see very often. For example, Bill & Dain had their five-week-old son Neil with them, and I hadn’t even known she was pregnant! A bunch of the folks from our sister church down in Fresno made the trek up, too, which was cool.
On the way home, we stopped off at Full Thread Ahead so I could do a small yarn swap with Lu. I must do a plug here. Hollis has done a wonderful job on her store. It’s a good thing I was with Hubby & the Things b/c I was very tempted to sit down with the gals in the “living room” and whip out my needles. As we approached the store, Hubby and I had this conversation:
This will be interesting because I have NO idea what she looks like. I told her that if I had to, I’d just walk in and shout out, “I’m looking for Lu!”
Oh, doesn’t she have a blog?
Yes, she’s got a blog, but she never posts any pictures of herself.
Hmmm….There could be a reason for that, you know.
Well, I suppose there could be, but I don’t know.
Well, I’m here to tell ya that if there’s a reason, the reason is either a) that she’s camera shy or b) that she’s the one in the family who takes all the pictures, so she never gets to be in them. Lu is just as lovely in person as her personality is.
Snagged me some more Sugar & Cream in Playtime, and not a moment too soon b/c I was about to run out with a couple of inches left on my M-D Baby Kimono for…well, I shouldn’t say in case the parents read the blog. Got some yellow and some white, too. Yippee! More cottony wonderfulness.
