The End of an Era
Today, Thing Two “graduated” from preschool. This was really weird for both of us. When she found out that it would be her last “Miss Claudia class” ever, she cried. I felt like I was going to cry all morning, but I managed to hold it together. It’s really weird to be moving on to the next stage, the stage of having all my kids in school.

I think Miss Claudia’s going to miss Thing Two just as much as Thing Two will miss her. Thing One took classes from her first, so she knew Thing Two before she was in classes. The second Thing Two was old enough, she started with the craft classes, then later moved up to the Kindergarten Readiness class. Miss Claudia got a little choked up while she was presenting the certificates as she talked about how she’d known some of these kids a long time and had known Thing Two since she was at most two. Over the years, the Things have become special to Miss Claudia. When Paul was born, she sent us three outfits for him and a “big sister” art supply pack for each of the girls. She came to Paul’s memorial service and made a donation when we did the March of Dimes walk last year. When she travels she…shhhhhhh! don’t tell…..often picks up little gifts for the girls. Yupp. It’s the end of an era.
