Crud Update

JOE’S MOM:  Well, Joe’s mom is still hanging in there, but she’s not doing well at all.  They did dialysis on her last night, and it didn’t help at all.  During the night, she had two strokes.  She’s currently on life support, and the doctors have asked the family to decide if she should be resuscitated or not.  Unfortunately, they haven’t been able to agree.

FURTHER CRUDDY STUFF:  Today, “Auntie” Velia was supposed to have surgery on her bum knee.  When the doctors gave her a stress test yesterday, however, they found that her heart wasn’t in any shape for the surgery; they had to stop the test before it was done.  Now, they’re trying to figure out if she needs a bypass or if they can get away with just doing an angioplasty.  Please keep her in your prayers, too.

Various & Sundry

HUBBY:  Hubby has his interview on Friday for the supervisor position.  Six hours of interviews!  He’s not worried or nervous at all, though.  He says it’s just ”a formality”.  Sounds like a pretty big formality to me!  Still no idea if he’ll take it if it’s offered to him; he’s afraid that it won’t pay enough to make up for its being a salaried position (he currently gets a lot in overtime).

YARN:  Bye-bye, Petro!  Got the “misc acrylic” box down from the attic and donated most of it to the local senior center.  I kept a little bit which is already earmarked for certain projects (a blanket for MarkyMark & Bobcat for either Sammy or their cat rescue, variegated petro for knitted spiders & snakes, etc.).  I still have a full box of  “misc yarn” of unknown fiber content, but I’m getting rid of stuff, which is good — makes more room for the good stuff!

BABY SWEATER:  The baby sweater for Hubby’s manager’s newborn son is nearly done.  I don’t like the pattern as much as I did at first, but it’s probably me and/or my choice of yarn.  Next time I do a baby sweater, I’ll use a different pattern.  When we give it to Sanjesh, we’ll have to make it really clear that the gift is completely separate from his applying for the supervisor job.

I’m going to stay here in the pantry FOREVER!

Hmm.  OK.  Well, then let me take your picture so that when people wonder where you are, I can explain it to them.

Later, Thing Two:

Honey, please don’t touch my mole.

Why not?

Because it’s not nice to touch ladies’ breasts.

That’s not on your breast!  Your breasts are the wubbly, bubbly part.  That part is flat!

Crud Update

Updated Crud:

Doctors are not God; much as they might think it, they don’t know everything and are frequently proven wrong.  Joe’s mom is hanging in there, last we heard.  The doctors were trying to get her stable enough to start dialysis.  Please continue to pray.

Further Crud:

  • Learned today that our friend Jim’s dad in the Midwest passed away on Saturday.  Sadly, for various reasons out of his control (really), Jim has been unable to go visit his dad and can’t go back for the funeral.  As you can imagine, he’s really hurting.
  • Also learned today that our friend Lauro lost his dad last Tuesday.  Not sure if his dad was here or in the Philippines, but it’s sad either way.

Blog Crud:

No idea why, but since blog.com moved to new servers on Saturday, I’ve been having lots of trouble with the pictures in my posts.  Sorry about that.  I hope that it will be fixed soon; there are always glitches when they do any kind of “improvements”.
