Hi, my name is Flash***, and heeeeeere’s my stash!
The pictures are according to how I had the boxes labeled and/or where the yarn was lurking. The boxed yarn lives in my attic. Appypollyloggies to Zib for the petroyarns. Forgive me! I was a newbie! I bought a metric buttload of it in January 2005, and haven’t used it up yet! (Plus, The Yarn Fairy has given me some, too.) Oh, and sorry for the boring pictures, too. Most of this yarn isn’t really worthy of yarrrn pr0n.
COTTON, most of it received from The Yarn Fairy, with the exception of the Pingouin & the solid turquoise, which came from Sherri
(PATON’S) DIVINE, (LB) WOOL-EASE & (LB) CHENILLE (THICK-N-QUICK)
(LB) HOMESPUN & (LB) FUN FUR — Lookie! Lookie! It’s almost GONE! What little kid needs a fuzzy scarf so I can use up this stuff????
LACE, SPORT & DK WEIGHT — OK, I have no idea why the cones of fat chenille were in there; they aren’t now. Much of this is mystery fiber from The Yarn Fairy, some cotton chenille from Helga, plus my Kid Merino and Katia Ingenua I got at Nine Rubies.
MISC. ACRYLIC — The name pretty much says it all. Most of this came from The Yarn Fairy. Some of it I’ll keep for the Things for craft stuff, the rug yarn for a blankie for when MarkyMark & Bobcat get back to doing their feral cat rescue, etc. The rest will go away somewhere. Someplace far away from my other yarn so as not to infest it with petro weirdness. (There’s some red stuff in there that I KNOW The Yarn Fairy gave away b/c it felt so bad and split so much!)
MISC. YARN & SCRAP YARN — Most of this is yarn of unknown fiber content. At least half of it came from The Yarn Fairy, though some of it came from Jeannette. I keep visualizing something squishy from those big hanks of multi-colored stuff. Too bad I don’t live someplace where I’d need/use a huge, squishy, ribbed scarf. Some obvious acrylic had found its way in there, but is now confined to the correct box.
YARN FOR BABY STUFF — OK, this is the one category where petroyarns get a “temporary worker’s permit” to enter Knittyland with amnesty. When you’re knitting for hospitals, you can’t use anything with wool — not even superwash — and it has to be 100% machine washable & dryable, etc. Cotton’s not really soft enough, so petroyarns.

BOBBI’S YARN — Back when I made that shawl for Bobcat (see later picture), she overbought on the cranberry-colored yarn. Eventually, I’ll use the extra for a hat and/or scarf for her. The other stuff is for a vest she wants in the future (NEXT fall, perhaps?).
Oh, look! There’s a bag there in the corner, behind The Bag of Shame (see below). What is it? Oh, hey, it’s yarn! Better include that, too….
BASKET OF INSPIRATION — This is the stuff that lives in the end table, right next to where I knit. Theoretically, it’s the yarn for what I’m currently working on, plus one or two projects ahead. It also holds the Kathmandu Handpicked that I STILL haven’t used.
THE BAG OF SHAME — The Bag of Shame is where I hide my unfinished repair jobs. Auntie’s shawl is in there, just waiting for me to have Hubby bring down the sewing machine. Bobcat’s shawl is in there, waiting for me to fix the hole that came about from the dropped stitch that didn’t work its way out until after she started wearing it. Along with the shawl is yarn for fixing it….
WIPS — These pictures were taken over a week ago, so the purple hat is no longer a WIP, but an F.O. Anyhow, this is the stash that’s attached to WIPs.
Hey, look! There’s even yarn on the desk, next to the computer. What’s THAT doing there? Guess I’d better take a picture of that, too!
