No pictures to share at this time, but she’s coming along. I haven’t touched her since yesterday morning. Eeek! Auntie spent the day today, so I didn’t pick up my needles at all till Thing One was in ballet class at 3:30. I am, however, half-done with Linda’s belated bday present. Can’t tell you what it is, just in case she lurks, but I’ll tell you this much: one skein Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran in black. Mmmmm……
Weekend was good. Things went to Poppa & Nana’s overnight on Saturday while hubby went to Cousin Helen’s 40th bday party. See this lovely hotel-looking setting? That’s her house! (And, more importantly, Adri & Rick. Look how slim they both are!!!) Me? Well, I was having…issues. No, not psycho issues. How to put this? Let’s just say that it’s perimenopause-related and leave it at that. Hubby joked that he would tell people “She doesn’t like any of you and couldn’t stand to be in the same room with you”, but the thing is his general manner is so serious that half the time, people can’t tell he’s joking, and if he joked like that, 3/4 of the people would think he meant it! (For the record, I believe he said I “wasn’t feeling well” to most people, but to Helen and Adri said it was “female issues”.)
Things came home Sunday after we spent a few hours at Poppa & Nana’s house. Jenna, of course, had the best time of all of us. We were especially glad that there would be no work or school on Monday. Hubby had planned to golf all morning, and we were going to laze around in our jammies, then all go do something fun in the afternoon.
At 12:30 a.m. Monday, I heard Thing One’s door open and the pat, pat, pat of seven-year-old feet approaching my side of the bed.
Mom, I puked where I stand.
Hunh?
I puked in my room.
OK, here I come.
A minute or two later, hubby joined me. By 1:10, the floor was cleaned (WHY did we have cherry pie for dessert????), the sheets were changed, her jammies were changed, a load of pukey stuff was in the washer, and we were back in bed.
Later on Monday, we found out that she had actually puked three times before she got up and told us — no wonder there had been so MUCH! Luckily, she had had the sense to hang her head over the edge of the bed, so it all landed on the floor b/c she didn’t want to get her stuffed animals all yukky. By the afternoon, she was fine, and we all went to the new local dog park for a while.
Knit night on Tuesday, as always, was great. We had lots of “show and tell”. Rose had some swatches. I had Olympia (but I was working on Linda’s present!). Jeannette brought a couple of bags and….these. One of these days, I’ll figure out how to use the manual setting on the camera correctly, but that was the best I could do in a rather darkened Starbucks. Yes, that’s a real penny there for scale. Talk about patience! She knit those on size 0000 needles. Oy.

Gee, Rick looks smaller than me !! Thanks for sending me the picture.
Erica-You probably didn’t know this, but Vinny’s roses are his baby. He has a good friend that helps him take care of them. We didn’t cut ours back one year until late and they came back. I suggest cutting them back and fertilizing. I believe he use chicken manure for fertilizing. Feel free to call him or if/when you see him at school to ask him about them.
