Various Updates

USlaceteam I am insane.  Insane, but apparently not alone.  Yarn Harlot says that over 3,300 people have signed up for the 2006 Knitting Olympics3,000 knitters!  Understand, there are only 2,400 athletes competing in the “regular” Olympics in Torino.  Wow.  Meanwhile, Olympia is changing before the pattern is even written out.  I have to figure out how to write out this pattern, especially considering each stitch pattern is a different number rows per repeat. Yeah.  Insane, I am.  Much as I love the look, I think I’ve decided to reject Cat’s Paw b/c it’s six rows per repeat, and all the other stitches are some multiple of four rows.  Outta there!

06 Feb Just One Week  Just one week?  Didn’t I say that the falling-apart futon was only going to live in front of the fireplace for one week?  That IS what I said, right?  Hmmm.  I took this picture about an hour ago.

b4b_white_150I dunno.  I just had to.  I mean, nobody’s yelled at me for my politics in a while.  (Well, there was that counter-comment on Zib’s blog, but I’m still not sure if it was directed at her or at me.)

word cloud Dani has a word cloud on her blog!  Why can’t I have  one on mine, too?  Other people have them, too.  Please, please, please, can I get a word cloud on my blog?????

Yarrrn Pr0n, etc.

06 Feb Yarrrn Pr0n 00106 Feb Yarrrn Pr0n 00206 Feb Yarrrn Pr0n 003

We have in order:

  • Thin pink stuff of unknown fiber content from Jean to Jeannette to moi.  This is only half of what she gave me.  NO idea what to make with it.
  • Thicker purple stuff of unknown fiber content likewise from Jean to Jeannette to moi.  I have five of these total.  This should come in handy for the “purple scarf with blue cats” that Thing Two requested for her birthday.  (“Blue cats”???  Maybe I can find some blue cat-shaped buttons to put on it or something.)
  • Really bulky multi-colored stuff with just a leeeeetle bit of sparkle in it from The Yarn Fairy.  I have four or five hanks of this.  Wish I knew the fiber content, but she doesn’t know either.  I foresee a thick, squishy ribbed scarf of some kind.

The best thing about this yarn?  It was all “for the low price of free ninety-free” (as my friend Al used to say).  Hence, I don’t think this qualifies as “showing off”.  Fie on you, oh anonymous anti-Yarnite!
