I do wish blog.com allowed me to put buttons on my sidebar.  Oh, well.

Finished Georgia & Becky’s presents yesterday.  I’ll try to get some pictures before I wrap them.  They’re not exactly “good” yarn, but hey, they’re good stash-busters!

I’m close to done with the last “regular” section of the interminable multi-directional scarf.  After that, just the final triangle left.  Woo hoo! Then, I’ll have my lone set of size 7’s available again.

Still up in some kind of order, but not exactly sure on it:

• Frog back a few inches (like 8!), bind off & fringe the second commissioned scarf for Mrs. R.
• Noodles’ sweater (Jeannette is going to give me different yarn)
• Brandi’s wrist-warmers (would be great to have them done before Saturday, but I’m not sure if I will)
• Mrs. R’s Valentine’s Day present (Sorry, she reads this, so I can’t specify.  Let’s just say that since it’s for Valentine’s Day, there’s a strong possibility of its being red.  Don’t worry Mrs. R; it will be practical, not a tacky teacher gift!)
• Swatching for the Olympics
• At some point, either Oceane or Marina (or both!).  If I do both, I strongly suspect that one of them will go to Nana.
• Gotta knit something special for Baby Mansour before we see them later this month.
• I’m sure I’m forgetting some stuff.  Oh, well…

BTW, I foresee some needles in my future after Mrs. R pays me for the second scarf.  I need to figure out what size needles to use for Olympia, then I’ll have to buy some good circs the right length…..

Erica walks into the kitchen to get more coffee and smells some kind of cleaning product.

What are you doing?

I’m mopping.

Um….WHY?

Because I know it’s dirty, and I wanted to do it.  Wasn’t that nice of me to let you do the computer while I mop?  Wasn’t that a good girl? 

[Smiles to self] Yes, it was.

Can this be one of my new chores?  Pleeeeease, pleeeeeease.

Uh, sure.

Yippee!  OK, done.  Now, I’m going to do in here….

  Erica shakes her head and wonders when the body snatchers came and took Thing Two.  She wonders if she’ll ever get her daughter back.  She wonders if Thing Two ever really was HER daughter after all, what with all this excited, voluntary cleaning business.

A few minutes later, Thing Two takes a break to eat her “bugs and worms” for lunch.  It’s only a quick break, and then Erica hears, “OK, I’m going to mop some more” from the dining room.  Five minutes later, Thing Two attempts to mop the living room wall with the Swiffer.  Erica smiles, knowing that this must, indeed, be the real Thing Two, not a pod person, so she continues to blog as Thing Two mops while still being true to herself.

Hubby had a pretty good birthday yesterday, despite the fact that he had to go to work and couldn’t spend the day golfing.  “The guys” are going to take him to lunch today to celebrate.

   He opened this present before he went to work.  Hubby’s been wanting a new Bible in this particular translation b/c it’s the “flavor du decade” at church.  I wanted to get him a smaller one that he could carry to church w/him, but I was also tired of bonded leather ones that disintegrate.  This hefty one was the only “genuine leather” one I could find.  Oh, well.  His most $$ present….

 As soon as he came home, the Things wanted him to open his presents; they couldn’t wait till later.

  Mmmmm, candy!  (Thing Two’s idea — two chocolate Valentine hearts, and a chocolate “Seegar”.  Get it?  SEEgar from See’s?)

  Woe is me!

  Silly underpants from the dollar store.

 Grandma Ruthie sent hubby’s favorite Founding Father for a visit (he won’t stick around long).

 Jenna wants to see what’s going on, too.  She wants in on the act.

 What’s this big thing?  Is it a Red Rider double-action BB gun???????

 I think these gifts are related, somehow….

Later, dinner at the Basque Cultural Center.  Yummy!  Poppa & Nana, you’d like this place.  Not so sure if Grandpa Gil would.

Then, after dinner, hubby put up the present in the big box…
