Knitty Story

When I checked my email a little bit ago, I cried.  Remember that story I submitted to Knitty back in August?  Well, I had an email from Amy Singer saying that it was accepted!  What great timing, finding out today on our anniversary.

I’ll keep you posted on when it will be in.  I don’t know if Poppa will consider this being published for real b/c it’s on the Internet (since any information that comes from the Internet is, by his definition, wrong), but I certainly think it counts, considering how many people read Knitty.

More Vacation

Ahhh, what a day….

Couldn’t get back to sleep after I initially woke up, so I went and worked out.  We hung out a bit, make breakfast in the room (love that suite!).  Hubby headed off to Reno to golf, and I had a latte by the fire in the lobby while I worked on my latest bag.

The nail tech called in sick today, so I *just* had a massage & a facial, no manicure.  Oh, that massage was fabulous.  I could get one like that every week…except for the fact that we’d be broke if I did.  The spa was, of course, great.

Relaxed in the room, had a shower, relaxed some more till hubby got back.  Dinner at the Italian restaurant in the hotel.  Definitely went beyond the “comfort zone” (that’s for you WW folks).  Bruschetta trio as appetizer.  Hubby had rack of lamb, and I had a steak and a big glass of merlot.  For dessert, he had the apple cannoli (“Leave the gun; take the cannoli.”), and I had Triple Chocolate Panna Cotta.  Yes, I’ll be working all week to make up for that meal.  Honestly, that was more worth it than a big Thanksgiving dinner.  Now, we’re lounging in our hotel robes, watching TV while dinner settles.

The “traditional” anniversary gift for 10 years is supposed to be tin.  I know this means I should have gotten hubby a round of golf at Pebble Beach or something (golf, tin cups, etc.), but I didn’t.  Apparently, we each indpendently decided that 10 was “the year of the slippers”.  I gave hubby a double-pack of golf balls (made him open them before he left this morning), a Simple Plan CD, an iTunes gift card, and a pair of slippers.  He gave me a pair of satiny lounging pajamas and a pair of slippers.
