Victoria’s Scarf

Finished it!  Ratzen-fratzen blogland still messed up.  Sooooo, click here for her fuzzy wuzzy pink scarf.  Not something I’d wear but hey, I’m not seven years old.  <BG>

Actually, the color makes me think of a breast cancer awareness ribbon…

Meme; I’ve been tagged!

I feel officially popular in the blogworld now b/c Dani has “tagged” me for a meme!  Here goes:

  • What is your favorite yarn to knit with?
    • Anything free!  No, seriously, Lamb’s Pride worsted, but I can’t afford to buy “the good stuff” very often, at least not until I’ve sold a bunch of stuff.  I’m sure I’ll enjoy the Knitpicks yarns once I’ve tried them, but I just love the feel of Lamb’s Pride.  It’s probalby the 15% mohair that does it for me.
  • Your favorite needles?
    • Any bamboo needles.  I love the feel and the quiet of them.
  • The worst thing you’ve ever knit?
    • Hmmm.  The uneven red scarf I so proudly gave Angela for babysitting on Valentine’s Day?  I think hubby would say that felted rose brooch (one of those “Just b/c you can doesn’t mean you should” things).
  • Your most favorite knit pattern?
    • Hmmm.  I’m pretty boring at the moment, haven’t attempted a sweater yet (remember, I’m still a semi-beginner).  Maybe the Sophie or the Edgar or the Heart scarf or the “Airy Scarf” from Last-Minute Knitted Gifts.
  • Most valuable knitting technique?
    • Oh, boy.  Um….um…um.  Maybe when I learned how to cast on “right”.  If not that, then when I figured out knitting in the round and on dpn’s (can’t have seams on those baby hats!).
  • Best book or magazine?
  • Your favorite knitblogs?
  • Your favorite knitalong?
    • I love both of mine for different reasons.  Felted Bag KAL b/c I’ve become an addict, it’s a great group of women, and I’ve made some great friends through it.  The Preemie Project (not technically a knitalong, but I discovered it through a list of knitalongs) b/c of what we do for others.
  • Your favorite kniwear designer?
    • Don’t have one yet.
  • The item you use/wear the most?
    • My felted knitting bag and felted book bag, for sure.  Now that we finally have some RAIN around here and some cooler temperatures, I’ll be able to break out the scarves with more regularity.

Scarves

OK, I cranked out that scarf for Mary the Crossing Guard.  Still can’t put photos in posts, so you have to click here to see it.

YARN:  Two strands of Lion Brand Fun Fur Stripes in Night Sky (a.k.a. black, white & grey)

NEEDLES:  US 11’s (cast off w/13’s, though)

I did it like the other Fun Fur Stripes, not having the starting colors of the two strands the same.  I like how it turned out.  It was a fast knit, and the colors scream out “GO, Raiders!”

I’m also about five inches into Victoria’s birthday scarf.  It’s two strands of Fun Fur — one Soft Pink, one white.  Should be very girly.
