Ribbitt, Ribbitt….

Well, yesterday I frogged more than I knit, I think. I started a project with the Moda Dea Floral from the Yarn Fairy using the Grand Eyelet Lace, but then after a few inches, I realized that I didn’t have anywhere near the yarn needed to make it, so I frogged it.

Finally made myself start the second half of the Fun Fur Stripes scarf, but the stripes were a little off still, and the stuff I was doing to fix it wasn’t working. Plus, I’d grown to hate the darn thing, so I frogged it. I kept the two skeins separate and made sure the stripes were “off” (yellow on one, blue on the other, etc.) and started a very narrow, two-stranded thing.  I’m still not thrilled with an entirely Fun Fur scarf, but combining the colors the way I did made it less garish.

Fun With Peeps

The girls spent some time getting in the Halloween spirit today.  Thanks to my FKAL SP, they each had two pumpkin marshmallow Peeps to decorate.  Now, IMNSHO, Peeps are one of the most disgusting things around to eat, however, they’re very cute and useful as cake decorations (think bunnies and birds on an Easter cake or a haystack cookie “nest” with jelly bean eggs and a Peep bird in it).  Anyhow, the girls have been itching to have at these ever since I opened the box.  If  I’d realized at first glance that the package contained four, not two, we would have done them on Friday night when Andrei was here for a sleepover (MarkyMark & Bobcat went to the Eagles concert).

As you can see here, they had a blast.

If I saw the finished products without knowing who did which one, I still could have told you.  Thing Two’s have her distinctive style.  Today, for example, she left a picture she drew in Bible class, so I went back with her to get it.  The teacher pulled out some pictures, and as soon as she pulled out Thing One’s, I said, “That’s it!” before I even saw her name on it.  <BG>
