October 15th

October 15th has been set aside as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day and is needed to provide support, education and awareness for those who are suffering or may know someone who has suffered a miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, a baby born still, the loss of a baby due to SIDS, Premature Birth or other causes of Infant Death. We are asking that everyone light a candle at 7PM on October 15th to remember all of the tiny lives that did not survive and to show grieving families we do remember their babies and acknowledge their losses. Too many families grieve in silence, sometimes never coming to terms with their loss. We hope that we can help by giving parents, grandparents, siblings, relatives, and friends a special day of remembrance so that they know they do not have to grieve alone or in silence any more.

Recently, Congressman Tom Latham of Iowa has introduced a House Resolution supporting the Goals and Ideals of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, October 15th, and calling on the President of the United States to issue a proclamation encouraging the American people to honor this special day of remembrance.
