Slow Monday
Slow day today. I finished Bobcat’s shawl yesterday — YIPPEE! I gave it to MarkyMark last night after he & hubby worked on Bobcat’s car. Haven’t heard from her yet, but she loved all the pictures of it, so she should like it. I made MarkyMark promise to email me a picture of her wearing it when she was feeling better so I could post it in the finished products album. More to come on that.
Haven’t done much today, but darned if I know where the day went. Typical Monday: Took Thing One to school, took Thing Two to school, went to Curves, showered & dressed, picked up Thing Two, played with her a little, knit, frogged, knit, frogged, decided on a different stitch pattern, knit some more, then picked up Thing One.
YARN: Lion Brand Chenille Thick & Quick in forest green leftover from Grandma Ruthie’s Mother’s Day throw. NEEDLES: US 11’s. PATTERN: Just a simple knit/purl rib. This will either go toward the holiday boutique stash or it will go to Ms. Brandi in trade for some special stitch markers she’s making for me to give to a friend.
OK, this was the one I knit, frogged, knit, frogged, and knit again. I’ll probably end up eating my words, but I’d swear there’s got to be an error on page 52 of 450 Knitting Stitches. I was going to do this scarf in Diamond Rib, but every time I got to the last repeat of row 3, the number of stitches didn’t come out right. After frogging it a couple of times, I changed my plans and used the Double Lace Rib pattern on the same page. As you can see, this one’s coming out fine. YARN: Lion Brand Wool-Ease in gold. NEEDLES: US 8’s. I really love this color, and I think this scarf is going to turn out great. I’m thinking of maybe putting a fringe at each of the k2 parts of the rib when it’s done; we’ll see.
Since October is Pregnancy And Infant Loss Awareness Month, I’m wearing my button with Paul’s picture and his birth & death dates every day. It’s definitely increasing awareness b/c people keep asking me about it. Though P.A.I.L. is dear to my heart, I’m not ignoring Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I have a bunch of pink ribbon sticky pads I’m sending to friends & relatives who are breast cancer survivors or who lost someone dear to them to breast cancer.
The Things have swim class tonight. Last week I didn’t let them go as a punishment for their being mean to Jenna. It worked out well b/c hubby was late coming home from work that night anyway. Looks like I’m stuck going today. <BG>
