Hunh?
If you’ve never been to my house, this picture will mean nothing to you. If you have been to my house, you’ll need to be told: Yes, this IS my house.
This is the area hubby calls “the laundry room” and which I just consider the other half of the kitchen (but hey, he’s “payin’ the cost to be the boss”, so I call it the laundry room). The tall white cabinet is our pantry. The lower ones hold all our dishes, servingware (OK, a portion of our servingware; the rest is in the attic till we remodel the kitchen and have real storage), glasses and cups, etc. This is also the area where Thing Two does all her arts & crafts. One of those cabinets holds paints, beads, and other crafty doo-dads. It doesn’t show in the picture, but off to the left is a rack that has all our pots & pans and also a bin with paper, stickers, and coloring books.
I’ve been on a “clean ONE area each day” kick the last couple of days to combat my natural abysmal housekeeping skills. Tonight, I sent the girls to play, and I spent 45 minutes purging this area. I’d been after Thing Two to clean it up for a while, but I realized she’d never really clean it, just move stuff around. I threw out a ton of stuff and put a bunch of stuff in the recycling. It’s all organized and tidy now. Let’s see how long it lasts….
Hubby had to work late tonight — not sure what time he’ll be home. Can’t wait to see how long it takes him to notice it.
