Knitting ADD

05 Sept Green Airy Scarf  YES, I know I’m supposed to be making Bobcat’s shawl, but it’s big, and it’s kind of boring b/c the rows are so long, so I take a break every once in a while and make something else.

PATTERN:  The “airy scarf” from the “Two- to Four-Hour Projects” chapter of Last-Minute Knitted Gifts (yes, I got it from the library again).  YARN:  mystery fuzzy green yarn from Merry (99.7% sure it’s acrylic; it’s certainly not Rowan Kidsilk Haze! <BG> )  NEEDLES:  I went up a size and used US 10 1/2’s.  I also added a couple of repeats b/c my gauge was off, and I didn’t want it to be too short to go around a normal-sized neck.

It didn’t look like much until I blocked it and opened up the lace.  Next time I’d probably use 11’s instead to make it just a little bit more open.  I really like the look of this scarf, and it’s SO easy!  I would love to see how it would be in some fancy yarn like the Rowan specified, but that’s for another time.
