Well, the school year is definitely off & running.  Tonight is the first PTA board meeting.  Next Thursday is Back-to-School Night.  Next Friday, the Innisbrook (wrapping paper, etc.) fundraiser starts.  The Thursday after that is the first PTA meeting.   Wheeeeee!

I’ve volunteered already to be “library mom” for Thing One’s class.  I really liked doing it last year, and Thing Two liked helping me.  It’s not a lot of time, and it’s a way for me to help, be visible & known on campus, and to stay in touch with Thing One’s classmates and teacher.

As you can see, the arrowhead lace scarf is progressing.  Unfortunately, however, it’s now stalled.  I like the thin chenille, but it breaks a lot.  Last night, it broke, and I spent an hour unsuccessfully looking for the end to pull off the cone.  Can’t find it!  I’m sure I eventually will, but for now, the scarf is stalled mid-row.

Today is the official start of the Felted Bag KAL Secret Pal thing.  Yippee!  I mailed off my package to the woman I’m gifting yesterday.  This morning, I got an email from my SP, saying she’s sending mine soon.  I love this kind of stuff!

We’re supposed to do one package each month for September, October & November.  We have a spending limit, and we all got questionnaires to fill out so our SP’s could know some stuff about us.  It’s a lot of fun.  I’ve already got some stuff for October’s package!

Two days till Grandma…time to start cleaning!

Normally, I’d have “The Amazing Megan” come clean the floors, but school has started now, so she’s only available nights and weekends.  Plus, I don’t feel great about asking her to come work for me on her birthday weekend (she turns “sweet sixteen” today).  Guess I’ll have to figure out another way.  At least we have the Roomba, so the place will be vaccuumed.

Gotta get rid of the ants before Grandma comes!  With the warm weather we’ve been having, the ants have come inside.  Blech!  I know we have ant stakes somewhere, but neither hubby nor I can find them, so it looks like I’ll be stopping at Lowe’s this morning to get some more.  Oh, well.
