This is what I ended up with last night, when all was said and done. It’s still drying, but the bathroom doesn’t smell quite as much like wet wool as it did.
Here are the colors/flavors from L to R:
- Grape on Grey
- Orange on Natural
- Cherry on Natural (done twice in the Crock Pot)
- Cherry on Dark Grey
- Tropical Punch on Grey
- Berry Blue on Natural
- Berry Blue on Grey
- Arctic Green Apple + Berry Blue + Crystal Light Lemonade on Grey
- Lemon-Lime on Natural
- Lemon-Lime on Natural
- Black Cherry on Grey
When I ball it all up and lay it out with the wool I already have upstairs (in the “Wool for Felting” box), plus the two skeins of dark brown Lopi I didn’t dye, I should have some really cool bags to make.
I was SO excited and proud of myself last night. I’m just so pleased with how it turned out. Who knew dying yarn was so easy?! Go figure! Hubby couldn’t exactly relate, but he was happy that I found a way to have “new” yarn w/o buying yarn. Of course, I had to buy the Kool-Aid, but considering the yarn was all free, it was a bargain. Think of the savings! Hubby threatened to use that line on me in the near future:
“Half Moon Bay Golf Course? $75?”
“But it was a weekday! Think of the savings. On Saturday or Sunday, it would have been over $100.”
Thing is, that threat didn’t hold water b/c I can’t remember the last time I objected to his spending money on golfing. He does the bills, so he wouldn’t spend it if we couldn’t afford it, so why should I worry when he spends some money to have some fun?
