Oh, Dear

Hey, pals, is this one right?  I’m afraid it might be…

Slow and Steady

Your friends see you as painstaking and fussy.

They see you as very cautious, extremely careful, a slow and steady plodder.

It’d really surprise them if you ever did something impulsively or on the spur of the moment.

They expect you to examine everything carefully from every angle and then usually decide against it.

More Silly Stuff

OK, as long as I’m doing silly quizzes, here’s another one.  The results on this one are actually pretty much dead-on accurate.  Weird.

The Keys to Your Heart

You are attracted to those who are unbridled, untrammeled, and free.
In love, you feel the most alive when your lover is creative and never lets you feel bored.
You’d like to your lover to think you are loyal and faithful… that you’ll never change.
You would be forced to break up with someone who was emotional, moody, and difficult to please.
Your ideal relationship is lasting. You want a relationship that looks to the future… one you can grow with.
Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment.
You think of marriage as something precious. You’ll treasure marriage and treat it as sacred.
In this moment, you think of love as something you thirst for. You’ll do anything for love, but you won’t fall for it easily.

What Do YOU Speak?

Here’s my profile:

Your Linguistic Profile:

40% General American English
25% Yankee
15% Dixie
15% Upper Midwestern
0% Midwestern

This is actually a pretty accurate representation.  I lived for five years in Irving, Texas as a kid, hence the 15% Dixie.  My parents are from Detroit and Cleveland, hence the 15% Upper Midwestern.  I’ve lived the other 35 1/2 years of my life in California, hence the 40% General American English.  Not so sure about the 25% Yankee, but I suppose we Westerners are Yankees.

Blanket Progress

05 Aug Baby Kai Blanket IP Here’s an update on the blanket for Baby Kai.  Looking good, eh?  It definitely has its share of “Amish mistakes”, but I still like it.  As Knitapalooza would say, “If it wouldn’t be noticed by a blind man on a galloping horse at midnight, leave it be!”

I’m really trying to crank on this and get it done by the middle of next week.  It looks like I may be getting together with Julie & Robin next week, and I’d like to give it to Julie then.  I think she’ll like it.  Hopefully, like the one I gave MEY, it will become a favorite b/c it’s different from all the ones in baby pastels she gets from other people.

Dying to Knit., Weekend, etc.

Well, I think tomorrow night is going to be my big yarn-dying experiment night.  Poppa is going to pick up the girls (and the dog!) for the weekend.  Our house will be a kid-free zone until Sunday.  Granted, hubby and I will be gone Friday - Sunday at a church conference, but Thursday night & Friday daytime will be perfect for doing stuff like my Kool-Aid dying.  Now, if I can just figure out some kind of drying rack for the yarn, I’ll be set!

I’m really looking forward to this weekend.  We missed the conference last year because 1) It was two weeks after Paul died, and we just weren’t up to the big crowd scene, 2) That Saturday was Jubal & Nichole’s wedding, and 3) That Sunday morning, after Grandma left, I ended up back in the hospital for three days with my uterine infection.  This year, we scored a room in one of the hotels attached to the conference center, which will be really helpful.  It will be nice not to have to drive back & forth or take the light rail back & forth like last time.  When we want to go back to the room, we’ll be there in five minutes.  This also means we can sleep later.  Woo hoo!  I am, however, going to be “good” and bring some workout clothes so I can exercise in the hotel gym.  Might as well get my money’s worth!  It’s really nice to be kid-free at these conferences, not having to miss half of it b/c of watching the kids, etc.  Saturday night, there’s going to be a big dinner with dancing and stuff.  Gotta drop off my summer dress at the dry cleaner’s today so I can wear it that night.  Unfortunately, according to the calendar, it looks like the timing in one way couldn’t be worse.  Murphy’s Law at work again, eh?  (Gee, didn’t this happen to me the LAST time we were kid-free for a night?????)

Still waiting to hear who Thing One’s teacher will be this year.  Chrissy said they hadn’t heard who Melanie had yet, either, so it’s not just me.  Last minute, as always….  I had a dream the other night about who she had.
