Holiday Boutique

Well, I just took a big step this morning.  I filled out an application to have a table at the school holiday boutique this December.  Hubby and a couple of other people had suggested it, so I’m going to go for it.  I’m planning to sell a variety of knitted items — felted bags (of course!), scarves, baby hats, maybe some flower pins, Christmas coasters, etc.  Should be interesting.  I’ve been twice, and I think I’ll probably be the youngest vendor there (hee hee).

Fashion Sense

05 Aug Fashion Sense Yes, in our family, even the dog has a sense of fashion….

Actually, this is Thing Two’s poncho that she put on Jenna, but it’s funny — Jenna doesn’t even seem to notice that it’s there.  Maybe I will have to make her a sweater for the winter after all (red, of course, to go with that black & white coat).

WHAT A GUY!

What a great guy I’ve married!  I’m on a strict “yarn diet” at the moment — “Use up your yarn in the attic, and then you can budget for more yarn.”  (You have to understand that I have five or six moving boxes full of yarn of various types up there.)  Today, however, I asked if it would be OK if I broke my diet to buy a “Pound of Love” in white specifically for making bereavement items for UCSF and The Preemie Project.  He said yes, but made it clear that that was it; nothing else (see quote above).  I get free shipping from Joann.com, and I had a 50% off coupon, so with tax it was only $4.05.  Woo hoo!  They had Caron “Pound” yarn for less, but I’ve never used it, so I didn’t know if it was as soft as the Pound of Love, so I stuck with what was familiar.

Now, if I can just carve out the time to Kool-Aid dye all that Lopi up in the attic (I counted, and I have about seven dyable skeins - YOWZA!), then I’d be back in the felting business.  Hubby and a couple of friends have suggested that I take a booth at the school holiday boutique.  I may just have to ask about that….
