Wool-Ease

05 June Wool Ease The Wool-Ease just arrived.  Won’t this make for a cool baby blanket?  I like having bright, unusual colors, not just the typical pastels.  I still have two skeins of the Fuchsia leftover from my big stash, so I’ll have six skeins to use on this.  I guess now I need to decide which pattern to use….

Double Sophie In Progress

05 June Double Sophie IP Had a request for a picture of my “Double Sophie” in progress, so here it is.  I hadn’t intended to do quite so many stripes, but I get bored.  ;->  It’s for a friend for her birthday next month.  She needs a good birthday b/c she’s grieving her mother’s recent death.  She told me her favorite color was pink, but she didn’t say what shade.  With so many different colors in here, I’m bound to have included it….

For the knitters out there, what I did was take the Sophie pattern and double everything.  When I get to the straps, since it will be 12 stitches instead of six, I’ll do three four-stitch straps, make them a tad longer than the pattern says, then braid them.  I’m also planning to do a little flappy-doodle thing as a closure; I’m just not sure how long to make it.  Then I get to buy a button.  ;->

Oh, and for those who care, the yarns, from the bottom (brightest color) up are:

  • Galway - Passion (#141)
  • Lamb’s Pride - Victorian Pink
  • Lamb’s Pride - RPM Pink
  • Galway - Passion
  • Galway - Pink (#114 I THINK; I lost the label.)
  • Galway - Passion
  • Lamb’s Pride - RPM Pink

Oh, and the stripes in the bottom are the Galway Pink.
