Baby Blankets
I’m going to make a baby blanket for Baby Kai, my good friend Julie’s baby, who is due in August. I’m having a terrible time deciding what pattern to use.
I’m going to be using Lion Brand Wool-Ease in Fuchsia and Purple. Yes, it’s inexpensive yarn, but I just can’t see using expensive stuff for a baby blanket. It needs to be machine washable & dryable, durable, and soft. This stuff fits the bill. The blanket for Baby Andrew was so soft in the CottonTots, but I’m afraid it won’t be very durable. The ones for the twins (Matthew & Michael) are pretty indestructible in the cheap acrylic Red Heart yarn, but they’re not as soft. So, I went with the Wool-Ease. The little bit of wool in it makes it so much softer.
This one is basically a ripoff of a pattern I bought in a booklet and made for my twin nephews. I like the pattern, but I’m afraid I’d get bored b/c I’ve made it before.
This one could be cool. It reminds me of a ripple one Thing Two was given when she was born, but it’s knit instead of crocheted, which would kill me.
What do you think?
