Lace And More

OK, I’ve discovered knitting lace, and it’s not nearly as hard as I would have expected!  Tomorrow is “Teacher Appreciation Day” at Thing One’s school.  Her teacher wears a scarf nearly every day, so yesterday I decided to make her one with some of the Denim Storm (blue) Divine.  I found this great pattern that worked up really fast on size 13 needles.  It only used about a skein of yarn.  How cool to have a pretty, elegant gift for just a little money with only a few hours’ worth of work.  Gotta love that!

Gave my friend Christine her scarf & flip flops yesterday.  She was pretty happy.  I’ll post the pictures after I finish the roll.  Made them with some of my huge stash that arrived on Friday.  The scarf is Homespun in Florida Keys Green knit with Fun Fur in…um..oh, yeah, Hawaii.  Very cool feel to it.  The flip flops for her tiny little feet (why am I surrounded by all these women with small feet?  Maybe I was really supposed to be 5′ 9″ tall!) were green decorated with the Hawaii Fun Fur.

Now, I gotta do my mom’s flip flops!  Maybe I’ll do another lacy scarf first, though….
